Designed for the dance educator interested in exploring the tools of technology and new media, Summer Dancing with Technology covers a broad spectrum of methods and applications. This five-day intensive hands-on course looks at constructivist methods and strategies for bridging new media technology and dance education. Through new approaches participants will develop skills and acquire resources to build a knowledge base for integrated dance technology in their classrooms. Participants will access information and resources, redefining and transforming the way we teach and learn about dance. Course projects are designed to investigate creative processes, to consider ways of integrating media into the dance curriculum and to explore new approaches to teaching and learning dance with technology. The workshop meets from 9:00-4:00. In order to support the physical needs of participants, daily movement classes will be integrated into the course. Continuing education credits available. No previous experience with technology is necessary.
