The BFA Program offers two distinct performance paths:  BFA in Acting and BFA in Musical Theatre.  These two programs share an identical audition process.

In order to begin your audition process, you must submit a pre-screen application and materials via the Acceptd website.  For more information on pre-screen requirements and to begin your application, visit us on Acceptd here.

Prescreen submissions will open on August 1st, 2020It is recommended that you submit your materials and application ASAP in order to secure your preferred audition date/time. The submission window will close on January 15th, 2021

Everything you need to complete your pre-screen is contained on the Acceptd website.  If you have questions on the process, you can email (for the BFA in Acting) or (for the BFA in Musical Theatre).

Prescreens are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning on September 1st, 2020.  If your pre-screen is successful, you will be invited to a Live Virtual Audition. Those audition dates are:

  • Friday, November 13th, 2020
  • Friday, February 12th, 2021
  • Saturday, February 13th, 20201
  • Friday, February 19th, 2021

Once you pass your pre-screen, you will receive more information on your Live Virtual Audition and what to prepare.. You will also have the opportunity to indicate which day(s) you prefer to join us virtually. The virtual audition day will include a panel with Q&A time and presentations by University Officials and BFA Faculty.  It is our goal to make your virtual audition experience fun, informative, and exciting.  We do recommend that you arrange a campus visit as you narrow your college search as auditions will not be in-person this year.

UNCG will also be auditioning at the Cleveland Unified Audition Weekend taking place October 10th-11th, 2020.  For more information and to apply to attend, visit their website.
