Lu Xu, MFA 2015, artist in residence at The Forge

The Forge is pleased to welcome our first ever Artist in Residence, Lu Xu! LuXu Lu is originally from Guiyang, Guizhou, Southwest China and began her schooling in Beijing for Public Finance at CUEB where she received a BA. Her move to the United States was prompted in 2009 after she accidentally enrolled in a sculpture class through an international program. She recently received her MFA in Studio Arts from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.

UNCG Summer Arts & Design Camp

Explore your Creativity and Artistic Potential. The Departments of Art, Interior Architecture and Media Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro are preaparing for our annual summer arts and design camp for current 8th graders through 12th graders. The student artists will receive daily, studio instruction & supervision from UNCG faculty and art education staff. We are offering a one week day or overnight camp followed by a closing student exhibition for the students’ artwork created at the camp. Brown works in Art + Dialogue – Greensboro College

Inga Kimberly Brown (current MFA student) recently had work accepted into the Art + Dialogue (A + D, a collaborative project of the African American Atelier, Center for Visual Artists, Greenhill, Guilford Native American Art Gallery and NCCJ intended to bring community together using visual and performance art as the catalyst for dialogues around racial tension in America.
