CVPA 2017 Commencement Information
Each year, the Schools within the College of Visual and Performance Arts hold recognition ceremonies for their graduates, in addition to the University commencement ceremony. The May 2017 commencement ceremonies are open to students who graduated/are graduating in the following terms: Summer 2016, Fall 2016, Spring 2017, and Summer 2017.
This year, the ceremonies will commence at the following dates, times, and locations:
- School of Art – Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1:30 PM, Sanctuary of the College Place United Methodist Church (509 Tate Street, Greensboro, NC 27403)
- School of Dance – Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1:30 PM, UNCG Taylor Theatre
- School of Music – Friday, May 12, 2017 at 3:30 PM, First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro, (617 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401)
- School of Theatre and Arts Administration majors – Friday, May 12, 2017 at 3:30 PM, UNCG Taylor Theatre
Each ceremony will be followed by a short reception with light refreshments.
Important information for you
If you plan to participate, please notify us by submitting your electronic RSVP no later than midnight on Friday, April 28, 2017 by filling out this Commencement Ceremony RSVP form.
Formal regalia is strongly encouraged, but not required. Regalia and graduation announcements may be purchased through the UNCG Bookstore.
If you plan to participate in the ceremony, you MUST assemble at your respective ceremony location no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, in order to organize the line-up. It is imperative that you arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the start time of the ceremony so that we may start on time.
We encourage you to leave any personal items, such as purses/bags and mobile phones, in a secure location before you arrive. We will NOT have a place for you to store your personal items during the ceremony.
Due to University policy, actual diplomas will not be awarded. However, each student will have the opportunity to have their name and degree program(s) announced, to walk across the stage, and will receive a diploma cover from the Director of your respective School.
Important information for your guests
All family and friends are welcome; tickets are NOT required. The student is the only attendee who needs to RSVP. Make sure that you RSVP using the Commencement Ceremony RSVP form so that we know you plan to attend.
