Constellations

Constellations is a two-person exhibition by Jill Beth Hannes and Neeraj Sebastian that brings together photographs, paintings, collages, and video installations that explore how the concepts of home, memories and myths come together in the formation of inter-generational identity.

Through the landscapes where we live and build structures come the imagined ideas of what we perceive as home. How do these ideas of home live within us and how are they continually reimagined and interpreted? The actual spaces that we inhabit have their own histories: people who lived in houses before us leave traces behind, seen and unseen by the current inhabitants. Narratives of the family, when they are passed down, create the space to tell our stories of imagined and actual homes, ancestral homes, the place of new homes, and the journeys that bring us to them.
