And, while there are opportunities available to you, make an active effort to try and step out of your comfort zone and try something new, if you have the courage to do this, you will end up being happy and finding people and something that you love and really connect with. Lastly, don’t be afraid to ask questions and to ask for help! People want to see you succeed, give yourself and them the opportunity to help you succeed.

Mental and physical health should be a student’s main priority in my opinion. Of course, I would also highly suggest to any student that they should attend their classes, do their assignments, and be committed to their schooling. However, it is okay to change your major, add majors/minors, doubt yourself, and to take time off. I find that an individuals strengths and abilities present themselves when one is capable of being humble and is willing to adapt. In these moments, you will see immense growth as a student, an artist, and as a person.

Look to what you enjoy doing in your free time and make that a career. It’s important to find ways to make your passion financially feasible, but above all else you need to be enjoying every minute of what you’re doing. Also, question everything. Don’t let anyone tell you what’s “right” or what’s “wrong”- decide for yourself.

5 Year Goals: In 5 years I can say I hope to be established somewhere, but you never know. My goal is to be the best human being I can and continue to fight for diversity AND inclusion not only within the arts but in the world. With so much going on in the world and as I continue to grow as an artists and human being I want to be surrounding by like minded people who are serious about their craft and are ready to inspire others to do the same.

Hobbies: I can spend at least 72 hours straight on YouTube looking at videos from this generation, last generation, eons ago, and still wonder how I went from a SZA video to how whales give birth underwater. I also love to binge watch television shows (particularly dramas and I will occasionally binge watch The Golden Girls; no judgement!)

Fun Facts: I did not start acting until I came to college, I can do mean impersonations of celebrities and regular people by simply observing them for a good 5 minutes, and I carry a blue aura.

Advice for First Year Students: My advice for Freshman would be to take it all in. Do not be afraid to reach out to other students and people outside of your normal circle. Introduce yourself, go out to events, NETWORK, breathe, go to class, know that you are here to find yourself and you do not have all of the answers right now. There is room for mistake, but do not let them define you. Allow yourself to fail and fail forward, and lastly just have fun and live!
