Portfolio Review Information meeting – August 28 – 2pm

For all BA studio art students interested in a BFA, come to the Portfolio Review Information meeting at 2pm on August 28th in room 134 Gatewood. The BFA program is designed for students who are serious about pursuing careers as professional artists.

The BFA is a pre-professional degree leading to the MFA degree or directly to a career in the Fine Arts. Admittance to the BFA program in the areas of New Media & Design, Painting, Photography, Printmaking & Drawing, Art Education or Sculpture & Ceramics is contingent upon completion of Foundation classes and successful portfolio review of student art work by a rotating committee of Art Department faculty.

Amanda Small – Artist Talk September 17 – 6pm

Amanda Small, Microcosm artist, will discuss how through her art she “visualizes aspects of the natural world, taking micro and macro views of the earth, cells, satellite mapping, topographies and systematic patterning” during a slide presentation hosted by the UNC-G Department of Art.

Her work is part of a exhibition “Microcosm” at Greenhill – 200 North Davie Street – September 18 – November 10.

Giant Picnic at Greenhill

Amanda Crary Gallas (MFA Candidate) is having a giant picnic at Greenhill on this upcoming, First Friday – October 2nd – 6pm-9pm. There will also be a Family Night is Wednesday, September 30 atArtQuest from 5:00-7:00. Amanda will be here teaching kids to sew and they’ll get to contribute to the blanket. PDF
