Christine Kiernan Fisher

Christine Kiernan Fisher has been teaching dance for more than 20 years in public schools, colleges and universities. She has worked in Durham Public Schools, where she directed the Honors Dance Company at Durham School of the Arts, was lead dance teacher for the district, and selected as a Governor’s Teacher Network recipient. She earned a BFA in dance from Columbia College and an MFA in dance from UNC-Greensboro.

She is currently a Graduate Research Assistant and PhD student at the UNCG School of Education. Some of her awards include the 2020 National Dance Education Teacher of the Year, and 2022 NDEO Presidential Award for JDEI service.
