Marissa Finkelstein

Marissa Finkelstein is a first year MFA student and a Graduate Assistant in the School of Dance at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She received her BA in Dance and Business from Muhlenberg College. While at Muhlenberg, Marissa had the chance to study abroad and dance in Florence, Italy at Florence University of the Arts. Originally from New Jersey, Marissa has worked as a choreographer, educator, and performer throughout New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. As an arts advocate and arts administrator, Marissa has worked with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Jacob’s Pillow, and most recently GlobalArts to Go, where she also worked as a teaching artist for schools and community based organizations. Marissa presented her research at the National Dance Education Organization’s National Conference in 2019, and her writing on dance was published in Dance Spirit. She is excited to fuse her interests as a dance artist, educator, and researcher at UNCG, where she is also a Minerva Scholar and Greensboro Graduate Scholar.
