Mary-Evelyn Kirkland

Mary-Evelyn Kirkland (née Hunt) holds a BA in Mass Communication and a Dance Minor from Georgia College. She received her MFA in Dance from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 2018. There, she was the recipient of the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award for the College of Visual and Performing Arts. She has performed with ImmerseATL, The Atlanta Opera, Kikimora Collective, and many independent choreographers. She is currently a company member with Kit Modus under the direction of Jillian Mitchell. Her choreography has been showcased at Georgia College, Clayton State University, and in festivals including Immerse Creates and Fall for Fall Dance Festival. She was also the guest choreographer for the Peach State Opera’s touring production of Carmen. Mary-Evelyn is currently on faculty at Clayton State University and Agnes Scott College.
