The Abele Saxophone Quartet presents an exciting evening of contemporary music featuring the world premieres of new works by UNCG student composers Liam Deen, Chance Gatewood, Mariah McClammy, Ward Robinson, and Vincent Trotta. The program also includes works by acclaimed composers Mark Engebretson and Bob Reynolds, showcasing the versatility and expressive range of the saxophone quartet.
Abele Saxophone Quartet brings together distinguished artist-scholars from leading North Carolina universities: Susan Fancher (Duke University), soprano saxophone; Rahsaan Barber (UNC Chapel Hill), alto saxophone; Heidi Radtke (UNC Chapel Hill), tenor saxophone; and Mark Engebretson (UNCG), baritone saxophone. This collaborative performance celebrates both emerging and established voices in contemporary composition.
