Join Our Staff

Anyone is welcome to apply for the UNCG Summer Music Camp staff. While we hire many UNCG music majors—thanks to our large School of Music with over 600 majors—we also receive applications from across the United States and even internationally.

Who We Hire

An applicant’s specialty, instrument, or voice type is considered, as we need coverage for numerous sectional rehearsals. Every staff member is a career musician: music teachers, artist-performers, or students pursuing music degrees from bachelor’s through doctorate levels. Many staff members return year after year, with some serving for over 20 years. Because of this, we only hire a limited number of new employees each summer.

Positions & Requirements

We employ approximately 170 staff members, including conductors, counselors, private lesson teachers, classroom teachers, and support staff. All camp staff must undergo a criminal background check conducted by UNCG Human Resources. We will also submit a disciplinary records check for all current UNCG undergraduate students.
