Frequently Asked Questions
Enrollment & Applications
When will enrollment begin?
The online application process starts in early February. Brochures are made available in January to former campers, schools, and music teachers across the Southeast.
Is there an application deadline?
There is no official deadline, but apply early—especially if you play a popular instrument like flute, trumpet, saxophone, or violin.
Do I need to send an audition tape?
No. However, you must provide your current music teacher’s name and email. We will contact them to verify your instrument and grade level.
Do I have to apply online?
Yes. Applications must be submitted online using a computer. Smartphones and tablets will not work.
Auditions & Placement
Will I audition at camp?
No formal audition is required, but you may be heard individually during sectional rehearsals. Piano Camp students audition Sunday for class placement.
How is enrollment determined?
On a first-come, first-served basis with quotas for each instrument and ensemble. When quotas are met, a waiting list begins.
What if I’m placed on the waiting list?
You’ll be assigned a number. If space opens, we’ll contact you immediately.
Payments & Refunds
When is my final payment due?
Final payment is due June 1 each year.
What if I need a refund?
Refunds (minus the $50 deposit) are available until two weeks before your camp week starts. After that, no refunds are issued.
Camp Life & Housing
How late can I arrive on Sunday?
Attendance at the Sunday 6:30 PM orientation is essential. Late registration is discouraged but available in emergencies.
Where will students stay?
Overnight campers are housed in UNCG residence halls near the Music Building. Males and females are housed separately (sometimes in the same building, but on different floors).
Can I choose my roommate?
Yes—arrive early and register together. If you don’t have a roommate, we’ll pair you with someone close in age.
