    For nearly 40 years after Count Basie's passing, his orchestra continues to sell out shows worldwide, keeping his legacy alive. Led by Scotty Barnhart, this 18-time Grammy-winning ensemble has performed for royalty, starred in films, and played every major jazz festival. Featuring some of jazz’s greatest soloists, the Count Basie Orchestra delivers the timeless swing and blues that made Basie an American icon.

  • Open House For Prospective Music Students

    Experience a day in the life of a UNCG music student! Visitors can sit in on classes, workshops, and ensemble rehearsals; attend sessions about our degree programs; hear performances by current students; and tour our world‑class facilities. Students and families will also have the chance to meet music faculty and admissions staff, ask questions, and learn more about studying music at UNCG. Parents and guardians are welcome—and encouraged—to attend.
