College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean bruce d. mcclung has announced the appointment of Eric Juth as Academic Professional: Assistant Professor of New Media & Design/Assistant Digital Director. 

Eric Juth is an educator and artist based in Winston-Salem. He is from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and before moving to North Carolina, he worked at the Andy Warhol Museum, The Mattress Factory Museum of Installation Art, and Wood Street Gallery.  

Juth has taught art, film, and digital media classes in higher education for the past ten years, including at Elon University, Greensboro College, UNCG, and Wake Forest University. Additionally, he is the graphic design lead for Slingshot, an internationally focused festival of electronic music and art, based in Durham. 

He has had solo exhibitions at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Gatewood Gallery, Salem College, A/perture Cinema, and the START Gallery, and participated in group exhibitions at the Digital Art Biennale in São Paulo, Brazil; the Stella Elkins Tyler Gallery in Philadelphia; the Blue Ash Art Gallery in Ohio; Rubio Digital in New York City; the Digital Art Festival in Taipei, Taiwan; and the Lump Gallery in Raleigh. 

As a film producer, Juth worked as a second camera operator, research assistant, and location scout for Al-Jazeera Media Network; and assistant camera for TruTV in New York City. In collaboration with Authoring Action’s “Just-Us” program, Juth has assisted young filmmakers in developing their voice as artists. 

Eric Juth holds an MFA in Documentary Film Production, an MA in Communications from Wake Forest University, and a BFA in Studio Art from Tyler Schol of Art at Temple University.
