Dr. Joan Titus, Associate Professor – Musicology

Joan Titus has been awarded the National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend for research on her newest book project on the composer Dmitry Shostakovich and his film music for Stalinist cinema (1936-1953).

 
This current book project is the sequel to her first book on Shostakovich’s initial experiments as a film composer (1928-1936) titled The Early Film Music of Dmitry Shostakovich (Oxford University Press, released March 15, 2016).
