Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded at the end of the fall semester and will be applied to student accounts for the spring. Students can determine their eligibility for awards by logging into Scholarship Universe with their UNCG credentials.
Endowments
Endowments pay or reimburse students for expenses incurred as part of their education and/or professional development. These awards can be used to offset the cost of travel to an audition or convention, professional development fees, etc. Recipients of Endowments work with the School of Theatre Business Manager to arrange payment and/or reimbursement for their expenditures.
Assistantships
Assistantships, out-of-state fee waivers, and in-state fee waivers are awarded on a competitive basis. Awards and assignments are usually made for two semesters, although one-semester assignments can be made on occasion. Most assistantship assignments require 20 hours of service per week.
Assistantships, out-of-state fee waivers, and in-state fee waivers are awarded to graduate students only on a competitive basis.
Fellowships
The UNCG Graduate School offers a limited number of fellowships to students with high GPAs and GRE scores. These are campus-wide awards and are quite competitive. Annual awards can range up to $20,000 per academic year plus tuition waivers and health insurance. There is no work assignment for students on Fellowship. Students must be nominated by our faculty in order to be considered for these awards.
