Alessandra Feris, piano ∙ Her Piano, Her Voice: South American Women Composers

Brazilian pianist Alessandra Feris is internationally recognized for her artistry and advocacy of Latin-American piano music, with performances across the Americas and Europe. A dedicated educator and frequent adjudicator, she has given masterclasses worldwide and premiered numerous contemporary works. Dr. Feris recently joined the UNC Greensboro faculty as Assistant Professor of Piano.

Michaela Kelly, soprano

Soprano, researcher, and teacher Michaela Kelly is currently Assistant Professor of Voice at the UNCG School of Music. A flexible and dynamic performer, soprano Michaela Kelly has most recently sung with the Los Angeles Opera Chorus and Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Join us for the inaugural presentation of the UNCG Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Shades of Blue! This concert will be an exploration of innovative arrangements of group vocal jazz repertoire, solos, and collaborations with instrumentalists. Featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, and Miles Davis, with songs in the style of Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Carter, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
