Ariel Detwiler, bassoon

Dr. Ariel Detwiler, a Minneapolis‑based bassoonist, educator, arranger, and owner of ACDC Reeds, is known for her warm tone and expressive performances. She appears frequently as a soloist and chamber musician and teaches at Augsburg University and Northwestern University of St. Paul. A versatile artist with a strong commitment to musicianship and craftsmanship, Dr. Detwiler brings a distinctive voice to every stage.

Kaju & Lina Piano Duo

The Kaju & Lina Piano Duo formed after the artists met while teaching in Wisconsin and discovered a shared passion for collaborative performance. Their programs pair beloved classics with works by underrepresented composers, offering audiences a blend of tradition and fresh discovery. Having launched their touring career across Midwest museums, churches, concert series, and universities, they continue to bring warm, engaging performances to communities worldwide through concerts, educational programs, and creative collaborations.

Stone’s Throw Quartet

An exhilarating evening of contemporary percussion featuring the Stone’s Throw Quartet—Dan Hartung, MK Phillips, Louis Raymond‑Kolker, and Alex Richard—with guest artists Carey Harwood (guitar) and Ajai Shaw (itótele). The program highlights works by Tarpaga, Trevino, De Mey, Bobo, Dorman, and new pieces by members of the ensemble.

“Música para Todos” brings together the Lorena Guillén Tango Ensemble, the UNCG Sinfonia led by Scott Glasser, and the Weaver Academy Strings directed by James DeFiglia for a vibrant celebration of community and culture. Guest singers Dora Cardona and Dalia Razo join this special event honoring the work of Casa Azul of Greensboro.

Theresa Delaplain, oboe

Theresa Delaplain is Associate Professor of Oboe at the University of Arkansas. She currently serves as Principal Oboist for the Fort Smith Symphony, and the Arkansas Philharmonic, and is the past (retired) Principal Oboist of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and the Music Festival of Arkansas.

Suyahan Guest Artist Feature Horsehead Fiddle School of Music

Symphony Orchestra

The UNCG Symphony Orchestra welcomes Mongolian horsehead fiddle virtuoso Suyahan, guest composer Hexigetu (Wenze), and Student Artist Competition first prize winner Siana Wong for a program featuring music by Weber, Sibelius, and Brahms. The concert also includes the world premiere of a new work by Hexigetu (Wenze), blending classical tradition with contemporary artistry.
