Greensboro Dance Film Festival

November 7 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

GREENSBORO, NC — Sugarfoote Productions and the UNCG School of Dance are pleased to announce the
12th Annual Greensboro Dance Film Festival (GDFF)
, taking place on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 7:00
p.m. at the UNCG School of Dance.
Hosted by Professor Robin Gee, the festival will present an exceptional collection of dance films from 23
countries, featuring both student and professional filmmakers whose work reflects the diversity and innovation of
contemporary dance on screen.
This year’s program explores themes of race, place, identity, memory, and belonging, offering audiences powerful
stories that bridge cultures, communities, and artistic practices through the unique intersection of movement and
film.
As one of the region’s premier screen dance events, the Greensboro Dance Film Festival creates opportunities for
artistic exchange among filmmakers, choreographers, scholars, students, and community members. The festival
showcases a wide range of creative voices while expanding public engagement with dance as a global art form.
Selected festival films will continue their journey beyond Greensboro through an international touring program,
with screenings planned in Tuscany, Italy, in June 2027, and additional presentations scheduled in Stockholm,
Sweden, extending the festival’s reach and fostering international cultural dialogue. All events are free and open
to the public.
Community members, artists, educators, students, and film enthusiasts are invited to join us for an evening
celebrating creativity, storytelling, and the transformative power of dance on film
