Hire a Student Musician

Thank you so much for your interest in having our UNCG School of Music students perform at your event. Our students love sharing their music with the community, and opportunities like yours give them both meaningful experience and welcome support.

While we help connect you with performers, the School of Music does not act as an agency. All details—including fees—will be arranged directly between you and the students. The only exception is the Miles Davis Jazz Program, which follows a set fee schedule. Once you submit the request form, we’ll make sure it reaches the right area.

Most requests are for background music, though featured performances may also be possible. We can’t guarantee availability for every style, but common offerings include small classical and jazz ensembles and solo instrumentalists. We’re happy to review your request and share what we can offer.

For wedding music, we aren’t able to provide guidance on musical selections. We recommend finalizing your plans with a wedding planner or someone familiar with wedding music before submitting the form.

Please include as much information as you can. You’ll receive a confirmation email after submitting, and once performers are confirmed, we’ll share their contact information with you.
