Hire a Student Musician

Thank you for your interest in having UNCG School of Music students perform at your event. Our students enjoy sharing their music with the community, and opportunities like yours provide valuable experience and support for their musical development.

The School of Music helps connect event organizers with student performers but does not serve as a booking agency. All arrangements, including fees, are made directly between you and the students. The only exception is the Miles Davis Jazz Program, which follows an established fee schedule. Once you submit the request form, we’ll forward it to the appropriate area for review.

Most requests are for background music, though featured performances may also be possible. We can’t guarantee availability for every style, but common offerings include small classical and jazz ensembles and solo instrumentalists. We’re happy to review your request and share what we can offer.

For wedding music, we are unable to provide guidance on music selections. We recommend finalizing your plans with a wedding planner or someone experienced in wedding music before submitting your request.

Please provide as much detail as possible on the request form. You’ll receive a confirmation email after submission, and if performers are available, they will contact you directly to discuss arrangements.
