School of Music faculty artist Stephanie Ycaza presents a recital showcasing the expressive range and virtuosity of the low brass repertoire. An acclaimed soloist, chamber musician, and founding member of Calypsus Brass, Ycaza is recognized for her advocacy of new music, works by women composers, and innovative programming for tuba and euphonium.
Wind Ensemble
The UNCG Wind Ensemble brings bold sounds, vivid colors, and compelling musical storytelling to the 36th Annual Carolina Band Festival and Conductors Conference. Featuring guest conductors and a UNCG faculty sextet, the performance showcases works by Paul Dooley, Roger Dickerson, Shuying Li, Gabriela Ortiz, and John Mackey.
Jazz Ensembles I and II ∙ 100 Years of John Coltrane
The Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program celebrates jazz legend and High Point native John Coltrane with a semester-long tribute beginning with Jazz Ensembles I and II. Under the direction of Chad Eby and Steve Haines, these outstanding student artists showcase the legacy of one of the most influential figures in jazz history.

As part of the Daniel Ericourt Artist Residency, GRAMMY® Award-winning pianist Michelle Cann presents a recital showcasing the artistry that has made her one of the most sought-after musicians of her generation. Renowned for her acclaimed performances, recordings, and advocacy of Florence Price’s music, Cann has appeared with many of the world’s leading orchestras and concert series.
“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band
Established by Congress in 1798, the United States Marine Band, “The President’s Own,” is America’s oldest continuously active professional musical organization. For more than 225 years, the Marine Band has served the President of the United States and the Commandant of the Marine Corps while captivating audiences with performances that reflect the excellence, tradition, and spirit of America.

The UNCG Wind Ensemble welcomes acclaimed faculty soprano Lindsay Kesselman for a compelling program featuring works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Dennis Llinás, Roger Zare, and Florent Schmitt, along with the premiere of a new work by Gala Flagello.

The UNCG Wind Ensemble presents a program that celebrates creativity and imagination, featuring a world premiere by student composer Chance Gatewood and a concerto performance by flutist Joeli Schilling, third-prize winner of the School of Music Student Artist Competition. Works by Joel Puckett, Percy Grainger, and David Maslanka round out an evening of youthful energy and expressive depth.

Featuring works by Ida Gotkovsky, Charles Ives, Johann de Meij, and Matt Browne, the concert moves from quiet contemplation to fiery exhilaration.
Casella Sinfonietta: Faculty/Student Side-by-Side
The Casella Sinfonietta brings faculty and student musicians together for “This is Modernism?” in a side-by-side exploration of the bold sounds of the early 20th century. Featuring works by Silvestre Revueltas, Paul Hindemith, and Darius Milhaud, the program explores modernism’s cultural influences, rhythmic vitality, and vibrant orchestral color, with faculty violist Scott Rawls appearing as featured soloist.

Experience one of the School of Music’s most dynamic traditions! Collage is a nonstop, visually captivating concert that flows seamlessly from one performance to the next. This year’s theme, “American Voices,” celebrates 250 years of powerful stories, traditions, and sound. All proceeds support student scholarships in the School of Music.
