The annual High School Keyboard Day (HSKD) gives students an opportunity to grow as musicians, to learn from faculty and fellow participants, and to explore the many opportunities as a student studying a keyboard instrument in college. This year’s event will focus on the art of improvisation in different styles including classical, jazz, contemporary, etc.
Faculty artists Lindsay Kesselman (soprano), Courtney Miller (oboe), Ryan Reynolds (bassoon), and Ināra Zandmane (piano) present "Between Sorrow and Enchantment." Works by Marie Félicie Clémence de Reiset de Grandval, Kieren MacMillan, and Marcia Kraus.
The UNCG School of Music Student Artist Competition provides an annual forum for exceptional student performers to audition for the opportunity to appear in concert with the Symphony Orchestra or the Wind Ensemble. The competition final round is free and open to the public.
