Rahsaan Barber has set out on a singular path of musical excellence in performance, composition, education, and entrepreneurship. In addition to working as a professor at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Rahsaan enjoys a performance career that encompasses an ever-expanding range of musical styles, including jazz, blues, funk, classical, fusion, soul, Latin, and world music.
Adam Frey is associate professor of euphonium at the University of North Georgia and artist affiliate at Emory University. As a major ambassador of the euphonium, Adam has more than one hundred and twenty works that have been composed or specifically arranged for him.
Clarinetist, composer, educator, and new music collaborator Luke Ellard strives for art that continually reaches out, valuing a relational spirit, informed engagement, and unapologetic authenticity. Dr. Ellard is professor of clarinet in the UNCG School of Music.
The Miles Davis Jazz Studies program begin their 2025-26 season at The Crown with “All Blues!” This concert celebrates the blues in all its forms – from the vocal prowess of Aretha Franklin to the energetic complexity of John Coltrane.
Praised by "The Saxophonist" for his “effortless expression and facile technique,” Dr. Young maintains an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He has performed and recorded with such esteemed ensembles and artists as the PRISM Quartet, The Crossing, Chris Potter, Ravi Coltrane, and Uri Caine. Dr. Robert Young is professor of saxophone in the UNCG School of Music.
Aaron Goldberg is widely heralded as one of jazz's most compelling pianists, both leading his own trio and collaborating with such brilliant icons as Joshua Redman, Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Guillermo Klein, and many more. Simultaneously swinging and embracing risk, his stylistically fluid, singular voice reveals that jazz is a tradition of innovation.
Soprano Jennifer Lien and Annie Jeng, professor of piano, present "mOthertongue: Lived Experience in Asian America," a program of songs intended to challenge outdated cultural ideas and assert the Asian American lived experience.
Garrett Klein (professor of trumpet), Abigail Pack, (professor of horn), and Marya Fancey (professor of organ) perform a concert of works for organ and brass.
Conducted by Prof. Lindsay Kesselman, Coro di Belle Voci explores historical and contemporary repertoire across a variety of genres/styles.
