College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean bruce d. mcclung has announced the appointment of David M. Greenberg as Lecturer in Sound Engineering in the School of Theatre.
David M. Greenberg is a composer and sound designer from Fort Lauderdale by way of Knoxville. A member of the Theatre Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES), Greenberg has designed for theatres across the country at such venues as the Creede Repertory Theatre in Colorado, the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, and the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
Greenberg uses his love of original compositions to create unique scores for his designs. He enjoys all styles of theatre and the opportunity to try new things and to explore creative ways to give all involved a special experience. One of his favorite projects was recreating the feeling of being inside Notre Dame Cathedral for a production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
From musicals to plays, dance concerts to operas, Greenberg is always excited for the opportunity to create new worlds and to mold the aural experience for memorable moments for all, both onstage and off.
Greenberg received his BA in Theatre from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and his MFA in Theatre Sound Design and Technology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
