Featured Image for Removal of Authentication Requirement for Zoom Cloud Recordings

Beginning on October 2, Zoom cloud recordings will no longer require authentication for viewing. Alternately, cloud recordings will have passcode protection as previously mentioned in a previous CVPA ITC news item.

From UNCG ITS:

As a result, when sharing a cloud recording, hosts must  provide the corresponding passcode for the recording. The passcode is provided in the email that is sent to hosts when Zoom recordings finish processing.

This change was made to address issues students experienced when accessing recordings in Canvas. Zoom made recent changes that enabled students to view recordings in Canvas without the passcode. However, a passcode will be required for viewers outside of Canvas.

Sharing settings can be changed on individual cloud recordings, if desired.
