Dr. Mark Cramer works with Markell Singleton (BM performance, 2019) during our weekly clarinet class on achieving the optimal amount of breath support. Using the weight of the double case, Dr. Cramer drew attention to Markell’s muscle tone, and helped him increase the support by applying a little bit of additional pressure. Hard to tell from the photo, but this was a pretty fun moment in our class as we watched Dr. Cramer work, and Markell participate so willingly!
