As part of a mission to center marginalized voices in American Theatre, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro School of Theatre is seeking musical theatre song submissions from BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and differently-abled writers. Songs can be from a larger musical work or stand-alone pieces. Material may be for performance as a solo, duet, trio, quartet, or a larger ensemble of singers.
All songs selected will be arranged (as needed, in consult with composer) and music directed by Dominick Amendum (UNCG Musical Theatre Program Coordinator; Professional credits include Music Supervisor/Arranger The Prince of Egypt (West End); Assoc Music Supervisor Wicked; Music Director Heathers, and others.) Pieces will be performed by students from the musical theatre program at UNC Greensboro and professionally recorded. They will be released online as part of the UNC Greensboro School of Theatre 2020-21 Season.
All submissions should include:
- A demo recording
- An accompanying lyric sheet or sheet music (preferred)
- Bios for each member of the writing team
Deadline for submissions: July 15th (preferred); August 1st (final)

Submissions selected for use will receive a standard fee and a contract with the UNC Greensboro School of Theatre detailing specific usage.
