Veteran Pixar art director, Tia Kratter will give an artist’s talk Wednesday, October 4 at 6:00 in the Bryan Building, Rm. 160.

After working as a background painter at Disney Feature Animation for five years, Tia later freelanced with Disney before joining the Toy Story art team at Pixar in 1993. Tia has served as an art director on A Bug’s Life, Cars, and Brave and today is the manager of Art & Film Education at Pixar University, the studio’s internal education program. Tia also recently authored the new book The Color of Pixar, which features hundreds of film stills from the studio’s archives.

Tia plans to speak about her work at Pixar over the years and how she has changed and evolved as an artist during that period while also working within a collaborative creative environment.

This talk, sponsored by the School of Art, is free and open to the public.
