The School of Dance welcomes two new instructors to our family:

Clarice Young joins us as an Associate Professor from the Ronald K. Brown/Evidence, A Dance Company, where she was the rehearsal director. Young is also an original member of Camille A. Brown & Dancers and former assistant who continues to work with the company as a guest artist. The New Roads, Louisiana, native received her B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and in 2014 received her M.F.A. in Dance from Hollins University. Her emerging choreographic works have been set on her alma mater, Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. senior solo work and at Dixon Place this March.

Maurice Watson comes to UNCG as a Lecturer. He is a choreographer, dancer and teacher who uses dance as a way to communicate, when words just aren’t enough. Born and raised in Long Beach, California, he developed a strong sense of artistry that allowed him to dance and perform with companies such as Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Disney, Jazz Antiqua, Long Beach Ballet, and Holland America Cruise Line. A 2015 graduate from the University of Iowa, He holds an MFA in dance with an emphasis in choreography. His choreography has been seen on Dayton Contemporary Dance 1 st and 2 nd  Company, 7Dancers Dance Company, Jazz Antiqua Dance and Music Ensemble, universities and dance studios throughout The United States. Maurice is an engaging teacher, who has taught in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and was previously on faculty at the University of Wyoming.

Both Clarice and Maurice will begin teaching dance classes in Fall 2017.
