Piano Music from Argentina

Playing music by Juan José Castro, Juan Carlos Paz, Pedro Saenz, Alberto Ginastera, Martín Gentleman, and Alejandro Rutty

Pianist Emilio Peroni will present a program with a sample of significant piano works from Argentinean composers of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The program will include works by Juan José Castro, Juan Carlos Paz and Pedro Saenz—influential composers not often played in the United States—plus works by Alberto Ginastera, Martín Gentleman, and UNCG Professor of Composition Alejandro Rutty

Peroni, born in Argentina, has given performances in major venues in Asia, Europe (Paris’ Senat, Hamburg’s Philharmonie, Berlin’s Philharmonie, among other places), and South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Uruguay). He has been featured with major orchestras such as the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the North German Philharmonic and other Symphonic Orchestras and Ensembles.
