Instructional Technology Workshops

The following instructional technology workshops will be offered during the Fall 2018 semester in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. All CVPA faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Registration is limited so please complete the registration form if you would like to attend a workshop.

All workshops will be 30 minutes in length and meet in room 264 – Music Building.

Arc (Canvas)

Getting Started with Arc – TBA (Fall 2018)

Getting started with Arc will introduce the interactive video Canvas LTI tool Arc and its integration with Canvas, outline key features used in video creation using Arc, and demonstrate interactive student and faculty tools associated with Arc.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics – TBA (Fall 2018)

This workshop will introduce the basic functions of Qualtrics and its use in data collection in various applications. 

WebEx

Getting Started with WebEx – TBA (Fall 2018)

Getting Started with WebEx introduces the basic functions of WebEx Meeting Center, audio and video web conferencing, meeting rooms, sharing documents, screen sharing, and whiteboards.

Canvas

Canvas Quick Tips and Tricks – TBA (Fall 2018)

Quick Tips and Tricks will introduce common tasks in Canvas that can assist in streamlining your LMS workflow and complete tasks more easily.

Box.com Canvas Integration – TBA (Fall 2018)

Learn to integrate box.com into your Canvas course: embedding videos, file directories, and documents.

Effectively Copying Course Content – TBA (Fall 2018)

Copying course content from an old Canvas course shell doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Learn to copy or import content from a Canvas course using several simple steps.

Course Analytics – TBA (Fall 2018)

Using Canvas course analytics to better understand how students are utilizing your course content.

Using Discussions – TBA (Fall 2018)

Using Canvas discussions in your course as a graded assignment.

Student Journals – TBA (Fall 2018)

Tips and tricks for creating student journals in Canvas. Canvas doesn’t provide tools for journaling, but there are several different ways one can use discussions, assignments, and e-portfolios to assist in student journaling.
