Teresa Transou (she/her/hers) is a native West Virginian and graduated from West Virginia University with a B.A. and M.A. in Art History, and an A. A. in Commercial Design from Fairmont State University. Teresa came to Greensboro, North Carolina to take a position as a Visual Resources Curator at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with the Department of Art in 2009. With an interest in history, architecture, and Appalachian Studies, Teresa studies and writes extensively in the field of Historic Preservation, Visual Resources, and Appalachian history. Teresa is currently pursuing a certificate through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, focusing on rural and Appalachian historic preservation. Outside of research and writing, Teresa enjoys needlework, knitting, and learning traditional mountain crafts.
