Julie DeGregorio Ohrnberger

Julie DeGregorio Ohrnberger, originally from Northern Virginia, graduated Summa Cum Laude from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance, and the Excellence in Performance Award. At GMU, she had the privilege to perform works by Lar Lubovitch, Ohad Naharin, Mark Morris, David Parsons, Stephen Petronio, Martha Graham, Camille Brown, and Susan Shields, among others. After graduation, she worked with Australian modern dance company, CoreDance Contemporary in New York City, and spent two seasons in Houston, TX dancing with contemporary repertoire company, Houston METdance. Under the direction of Marlana Doyle, she performed works by Kate Skarpetowska, Larry Keigwin, Caleb Mitchell, Jess Hendricks, and Joshua Peugh.  Julie has also danced with Dakshina Dance Company, where she toured to perform and teach in India, Italy, and South Africa. In 2016, she started a standards-based K-12 dance program at King Abdullah Academy in Herndon, VA. Most recently, she has stepped into a new position as a resource elementary dance educator for Fairfax County Public Schools, Hunters Woods ES. Julie is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Dance Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
