Emily Crofford

Emily Crofford is an artist and educator interested in exploring the intimate connections dance offers both performers and viewers. She was selected as one of Dance Project’s Artist in Residence for Fall 2018, and her choreography has been featured at Cleveland Dance Showcases, American College Dance Association conferences, and Tobacco Roads Dance Productions’ In Concert ’19. Emily has danced with numerous choreographers throughout her career and has worked for the Wake Forest Dance Festival since 2018. Serving as an adjunct professor in dance at High Point University, Elon University, and Salem College, Emily teaches a variety of dance techniques and theory courses to a vast array of students. She has presented her research on integrating somatic and conditioning practices into dance training at the National Dance Education Organization national conference and the North Carolina Dance Education Organization conference. Emily earned her MFA in Dance with a concentration in choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2018 and her BFA in Dance Education from Kent State University. She is also a certified Yoga teacher through the Yoga Alliance and a Certified Elite Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association.
