Ellen Tshudy
Ellen Tshudy graduated with honors from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a BFA in Modern Dance. After graduating, Ellen moved to Atlanta to begin her professional performing career and became a founding member of Zoetic Dance Ensemble, one of ATL’s most popular contemporary dance companies. She was on the Board of Directors for Zoetic and served as the Coordinator of Education and Outreach. She no longer performs with Zoetic but is proud to say that a former student of hers is now the Artistic Director. After teaching and choreographing in private studios all over the ATL Metro area for 10 years, in 2009, Ellen began a new journey as the Dance Director at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County. This year starts her 12th year at Brookwood. At present, Ellen is humbled to serve as the Lead Teacher for Dance in Gwinnett County, where dance is growing by leaps and bounds and now has 20 dance programs throughout Gwinnett County elementary, middle, and high schools. In this role, Ellen collaborates with veteran dance teachers and supports the newer teachers. Ellen is so excited to be a part of the 2020 cohort of the UNCG Masters in Dance Education program.
