Davida Reid

Davida Reid (she, her hers they) is a dancer, choreographer, and educator. She is a first-year MFA student in the school of dance and will be a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the school of Dance as well as in the school of Visual Arts. Along with dancing in various companies and with various choreographers throughout Europe and the United States, she holds a MA in Art Business from Sotheby’s Institute in London and an MS in Organizational Management from the School for International Training in Vermont. She currently and for many years has worked with the elderly population as a movement instructor and with people who have Parkinson’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. She is a Yoga, Gyrotonic, and Gyrokinesis Instructor and enjoys incorporating various forms of movement in choreography. A recipient of the UNCG Inclusiveness award, she is excited to delve into research focused on visual perception, movement, and the ways it influences the aging process.
