Daniel Rice holds the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the Master of Music degree in trombone performance from Florida State University, and the Bachelor of Music in trombone performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Dr. Rice has served on the faculty of Radford University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Cape Fear Community College and currently serves as Instructor of Trombone in the UNCG School of Music as well as Instructional Technology Consultant and Webmaster in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at UNCG. Dr. Rice has performed with various ensembles throughout the region and country, including the North Carolina Symphony, Greensboro Symphony, 11˚ Trombone Quartet, Market Street Brass, and Palmetto Posaunen.

Daniel is also active in other areas of interest. He is an avid cyclist and participates in endurance events across the country. His photography has been featured in national print and internet publications for professional, educational, and government organizations.
