Chelsea Pettiford

Chelsea Pettiford, originally from Greensboro, North Carolina, began dancing at the age of two years old. She graduated from Alabama State University in 2020 with a Bachelor Fine Arts in Dance, where she studied under James Atkinson, Lindsay Renea Benton, Jerome Stigler, Michael Medcalf and the late Kavin Grant. Alabama State University is the first and only HBCU with a BFA Dance Program, which gave her the opportunity to cultivate her craft and passion for dance while experiencing the college life on an HBCU campus. Chelsea now serves as the head dance teacher at Carolina Athletix and Twirling Diva’s where she teaches dance to all ages. She also shares her artistic talents within her community, teaching various professional workshops for dance students to further their technical and artistic abilities. Chelsea is currently enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to receive her K-12 Dance Teaching Licensure.
