Curriculum Vitae

Amy Lixl-Purcell is an intermedia artist who works primarily with installation. Her work investigates personal and cultural memory as bound to sensory experience, cultural artifacts, and images. Digital media and processes are central to her work which includes sound, video, photography, and sculptural elements. Her work traverses the traditional boundaries between practices and disciplines as she searches for innovative methods in pursuit of content based art. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally.

Amy Lixl-Purcell developed the digital design curriculum and has been honored with the Teaching Excellence Award from the Southeastern College Art Conference, SECAC, and the College Teaching Excellence Award at UNCG. Amy lives with her family on their techno dude ranch in Colfax, North Carolina.
