The School of Music offers private music instruction to members of the Greensboro community on campus through the Community Music Lessons (CML) (formerly the Private Lessons Program). This is an opportunity for our undergraduate and graduate student population to gain valuable one-on-one teaching experience during their time at UNCG. In addition to providing professional experience for our students, participating in lessons will allow more Greensboro community members of all ages to experience the joy and accomplishment of gaining artistic and technical skills in music.

All lessons take place at the School of Music on UNC-Greensboro campus.

Your instructor will meet you in the entrance/lobby by the Administrative Offices and Box Office.

Please note, the CML program runs according to the UNCG academic calendar and semester schedule:

Summer 2023 lessons are available at the discretion of individual instructors
Lessons for Fall 2023 take place August 21, 2023 – Dec 8, 2023
Lessons for the remainder of December 2023 are available at the discretion of individual instructors

Driving Directions to the School of Music can be found here.

You are welcome to park in the McIver Parking Deck, located directly across from the Music Building on McIver Street. Parking costs $2/first hour, $1/each additional hour, up to $7 max; cash only.

There is also free 2-hour parking on Tate Street, McIver, and East Lake Drive.
