DESCRIPTION:With a career spanning almost four decades\, GRAMMY® Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell is one of the most celebrated artists of his era. Having performed with virtually every major orchestra in the world\, Bell continues to maintain engagements as soloist\, recitalist\, chamber musician\, conductor\, and Music Director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. \nBell’s highlights in the 2021–22 season include leading the Academy of St Martin in the Fields at the 2021 BBC Proms\, throughout Europe\, and the United States on tour; returning with the Philadelphia Orchestra for a play/conduct program\, to the Verbier Festival\, the Minnesota Orchestra\, and the New York Philharmonic; and tours with the Israel Philharmonic and NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra as soloist. Additional 2021–22 performances to be announced. \nDuring the COVID-19 pandemic\, Bell joined the classical music world in bringing world-class performances online. Tickets purchased through third-party vendors cannot be honored. \n\n\n\n \nIn 2011\, Bell was named Music Director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields\, succeeding Sir Neville Marriner\, who formed the orchestra in 1959. Bell’s history with the Academy dates back to 1986 when he first recorded the Bruch and Mendelsohn concertos with Mariner and the orchestra. Bell has since directed the orchestra on several albums including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons\, Voice of the Violin\, For the Love of Brahms\, and most recently\, Bruch: Scottish Fantasy\, which was nominated for a 2019 GRAMMY® Award. \nBell has performed for three American presidents and the sitting justices of the Supreme Court of the United States. He participated in former president Barack Obama’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities’ first cultural mission to Cuba\, joining Cuban and American musicians on a 2017 Live from Lincoln Center Emmy nominated PBS special\, Joshua Bell: Seasons of Cuba\, celebrating renewed cultural diplomacy between Cuba and the United States. \nBorn in Bloomington\, Indiana\, Bell began the violin at age four\, and at age twelve\, began studies with his mentor\, Josef Gingold. At age 14\, Bell debuted with Riccardo Muti and the Philadelphia Orchestra\, and made his Carnegie Hall debut at age 17 with the St. Louis Symphony. At age 18\, Bell signed with his first label\, London Decca\, and received the Avery Fisher Career Grant. In the years following\, Bell has been named 2010 “Instrumentalist of the Year” by Musical America\, a 2007 “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum\, nominated for six GRAMMY® awards\, and received the 2007 Avery Fisher Prize. He has also received the 2003 Indiana Governor’s Arts Award and a Distinguished Alumni Service Award in 1991 from the Jacobs School of Music. In 2000\, he was named an “Indiana Living Legend.” \n\n \nPianist Peter Dugan’s debut performances with Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony were described by the Los Angeles Times as “stunning” and by the SF Chronicle as “fearlessly athletic.” He is heard every week across America as the host of National Public Radio’s beloved program From the Top. Mr. Dugan has appeared as a soloist\, recitalist\, and chamber musician across North America and abroad. In 2020\, he joined acclaimed violinist Joshua Bell for At Home With Music\, a national PBS broadcast and live album release on Sony Classical. This season Mr. Dugan continues his collaboration with Bell\, touring internationally with recitals at London’s Wigmore Hall\, Taipei’s National Theater and Concert Hall\, and the Kennedy Center in Washington\, DC. \nPrizing stylistic versatility as the hallmark of a 21st century musician\, Mr. Dugan is equally at home in classical\, jazz\, and pop idioms\, and has collaborated with artists ranging from Jesse Colin Young\, to Renee Fleming\, to Paquito D’Rivera. Mr. Dugan performs regularly in partnership with friends and artists who share a passion for expanding the world of classical music. The Wall Street Journal described Mr. Dugan’s collaboration with violinist and vocalist Charles Yang as a “classical-meets-rockstar duo.” In Mr. Dugan’s performances with his wife\, mezzo-soprano Kara Dugan\, repertoire ranges from art song\, to American Songbook\, to original songs and world premieres. The Dugans have appeared at Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum\, WQXR’s Greene Space\, and on PBS Great Performances’ Now Hear This. \nMr. Dugan’s latest album with baritone John Brancy – The Journey Home: Live from the Kennedy Center – was released on Avie Records in 2021 along with an accompanying documentary film from WNET’s AllArts. Brancy and Dugan have given recitals at Alice Tully Hall\, Carnegie Hall\, and the Kennedy Center\, and together won first prize at the 2018 Montreal International Music Competition. Mr. Dugan’s latest project with violinist Sean Lee was PaganiniXSchumann\, a digital EP release that accompanied a live performance at Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center of all 24 Paganini Caprices with piano parts written by Robert Schumann. Mr. Dugan appeared as the piano soloist in Charles Ives’ 4th Symphony with the Houston Symphony\, the San Francisco Symphony\, and on an album with Michael Tilson Thomas and the SFS. \nMr. Dugan advocates for a classical music culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all\, from a community’s concert halls and theaters\, to its schools and hospitals. As a founding creator of Operation Superpower\, a superhero opera for children\, he has travelled to dozens of schools in the greater New York area\, performing for students and encouraging them to use their talents – their superpowers – for good. He is head of the Artist in Residence program at pianoSonoma and a founding faculty member of the Resonance and Soundboard Institutes at Honeywell Arts Academy. \nMr. Dugan holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School\, where he studied under Matti Raekallio. He resides in New York City and is a Yamaha Artist. \n\nIn addition to public presentations\, every artist in the UCLS series does important work with UNCG students\, such as holding masterclasses and seminars\, often just hours before performing on stage. She is committed to listening\, learning\, and becoming a better member of society with the hopes of paving roads for justice\, collaboration\, and kindness in communities. She has performed widely in such settings as the Brancaleoni International Music Festival in Italy\, the Gijón International Piano Festival in Spain\, the Kennedy Center\, Interlochen Arts Academy\, and China. (However\, she sometimes prefers to perform in intimate spaces such as living rooms\, personal Zoom calls\, and breweries.) Recent performances have included Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with UNCG’s University Symphony Orchestra\, Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra\, Messiaen’s La ville d’en haut with the University of Michigan Symphony Band\, and Messiaen’s Oiseaux exotiques with the University of Michigan Contemporary Directions Ensemble. A Presser scholar\, Annie has presented at Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) conferences at collegiate\, state\, and national levels and College Music Society (CMA) regional conferences. \nAnnie’s essential goal as an artist is to make communities richer and more meaningful through the arts. To this end\, Annie strives to make music accessible to audiences of all backgrounds by expanding and rethinking the traditional recital format to include interdisciplinary and interactive elements\, all with the aim of encouraging audiences to engage with the artistic experience. Recent projects include\, “Music by the Barrel\,” which was a concert series at the Ann Arbor Distilling Company in Ann Arbor\, “Beyond the Keys: Unlocking Piano Works” which was an interactive concert on the roof of a parking deck performed by her piano pedagogy students\, and “Brews-keys” which featured UNCG piano faculty and students at Oden Brewing Company in Greensboro\, North Carolina. She also led music workshops that focused on group singing and music as a form of expression through the Prison Creative Arts Project at University of Michigan. \nDuring the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic\, Annie personally picked up and delivered keyboards to UNCG piano students in order to ensure that music within student’s lives would not be stopped. As a strong believer of creating a better and more equitable “normal\,” she also founded A Seat at the Piano (ASAP) in the summer of 2020 (aseatatthepiano.com). ASAP is a resource that is dedicated to the promotion of inclusion in the performance and study of solo piano repertoire. \nMuch of Annie’s research is devoted to contemporary music and studying the pedagogical capabilities of contemporary piano techniques. In 2018\, Annie received the Rackham Predoctoral Fellowship from the University of Michigan to create a pedagogical resource called Circles and Lines that will feature newly commissioned works by female composers that introduce unconventional piano techniques to intermediate pianists. She is also the pianist of Khemia Ensemble (khemiaensemble.com)\, a contemporary chamber ensemble that is dedicated to promoting contemporary classical music by cultivating inclusive place-making\, collaborative mentorships\, and authentic storytelling through immersive\, multimedia performances. She released the album\, “World Map” with Parma Recordings as the former pianist of Four Corner’s Ensemble. Committed to supporting musicians in finding their unique career path\, she also worked as a Programming Assistant at University of Michigan’s Excellence in Entrepreneurship\, Career Empowerment & Leadership (EXCEL) Lab. She also serves as a member of the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP) Career Development and Innovation Committee. \nAnnie received her MM in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan and her BM in Piano Performance with a minor in Public Health from New York University. She received her DMA in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Michigan in 2019. Her teachers include Logan Skelton\, José Ramón Mendez\, Miyoko Lotto\, Anne-Marie McDermott\, and Faye Bonner. She is currently the Assistant Professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. (anniejeng.com) \n\nThe UNCG Wind Ensemble is a highly select concert band of fifty performers majoring in music at the UNCG School of Music. Performers in the current Wind Ensemble are drawn from sixteen states\, Slovenia\, and Hong Kong. The ensemble has enjoyed a distinguished record of performance throughout its history. In January 1992\, the UNCG Wind Ensemble performed “A Tribute to John Philip Sousa” to a capacity crowd of 2\,700 at the Concert Hall of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington\, D.C. Twice\, the Wind Ensemble earned critical acclaim from The Washington Post following concerts in the nation’s capital. The Wind Ensemble has performed throughout the eastern United States in recent years including the first-ever performance\, in 1987\, by a North Carolina collegiate ensemble in Lincoln Center\, New York City. The Wind Ensemble performed that same year in West Virginia\, Virginia\, Pennsylvania\, and Washington\, D.C. The Wind Ensemble has recorded nineteen commercially-available albums which have received widespread praise. \nIn 1985\, the Wind Ensemble performed a series of concerts with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer-conductor Karel Husa. In 1988\, the UNCG Wind Ensemble performed in New Orleans\, Louisiana by invitation of the College Band Directors National Association for the Southern Division convention. On a number of occasions\, the Wind Ensemble has commissioned and premiered works from leading band composers. In November of 1990\, the Wind Ensemble performed for the Southern Division of MENC convention. In February 1994\, the UNCG Wind Ensemble performed for a convention of the CBDNA and NBA in Williamsburg\, Virginia. In March 1999\, the Wind Ensemble performed for the national convention of the American Bandmasters Association in Melbourne\, Florida. In February 2000\, the Wind Ensemble performed for the CBDNA Southern Division Convention hosted at UNCG. In 2006\, the Wind Ensemble performed in The Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda\, Maryland\, shared a concert with the United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Arlington\, Virginia\, and collaborated with Karel Husa\, David Dzubay\, and Carter Pann in the performaces of their music\, including two commissions. In 2009\, the Wind Ensemble performed at the CBDNA National Convention at the University of Texas at Austin and performed additional concerts in Georgia\, Alabama\, Louisiana\, and Texas as part of a week-long tour. The Wind Ensemble performed at the 2011 National Convention of the American Bandmasters Association and the 2013 National Conference of the College Band Directors National Association hosted in Greensboro. Most recently\, the UNCG took a twelve day concert tour through the Czech Republic\, Austria\, and Italy\, the highlight of which was a concert in Prague’s famed Dvořák Hall.

He is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Trumpet at UNC Greensboro where he leads the Trumpet Studio\, coaches the Graduate Brass Quintet\, and directs the Trumpet Ensemble. Previously Garrett served on the faculties of St. Olaf College and Gustavus Adolphus College. \nGarrett is a member of the Dallas Brass\, an internationally recognized touring ensemble. Dallas Brass has a legacy of presenting uplifting performances\, which span a wide array of musical styles. In addition to performing shows across the country\, Dallas Brass demonstrates a steadfast commitment to music education by working to inspire students of all ages while on tour. \nOutside of touring with Dallas Brass\, Garrett has performed with the Charlotte Symphony\, Winston-Salem Symphony\, the North Carolina Brass Band\, and the Carolina Brass. He has also appeared as a guest musician with The Phoenix Symphony\, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra\, the New World Symphony\, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra\, and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally\, Garrett is an Associate Artist with the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass. A new music advocate\, Garrett has worked with composers to commission new works for trumpet\, presenting newly composed works at International Trumpet Guild Conferences. \nGarrett earned his DMA and MM degrees at Arizona State University\, along with a Certificate in Music Theory Pedagogy. Prior to ASU\, he studied at the prestigious Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore and St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Garrett Klein is an endorsing artist for Conn-Selmer and proudly performs on Vincent Bach trumpets. \n\nThe renowned UNCG Bands are dedicated to the performance\, study\, and cultivation of wind band music of the highest quality\, and are a serious and distinctive medium of musical expression. Face coverings that cover the nose and mouth are strongly encouraged\, but not required\, while inside the performance hall.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nDr. Erika Boysen is an international performer\, educator and collaborator who is the Assistant Professor of Flute at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.  Known for her verve and energy while teaching\, Erika has previously served as faculty at the Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Arts Camp\, Northwestern Michigan College and Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts. \nCommitted to developing new and innovative ways of presenting and teaching the traditional model of classical flute\, the majority of her research and scholarship focuses on cross-disciplinary collaboration between the arts.  Through movement\, singing and acting\, she promotes an approach to education and performance that highlights multiple aspects of artistic expression. \nIn demand as a clinician and speaker\, she has been a featured artist at the Montana Flute Festival\, Eastern Carolina Flute Symposium and Iowa Flute Festival.  In addition\, she has published articles in Flute Talk Magazine and Physics Education Journal and presented at the North Carolina Music Educators Association Conference and Wild Acres Flute Retreat. \nErika has toured across the United States and Europe performing in a variety of chamber\, orchestral and improvisation-based ensembles.  Currently\, as a member of the UNCG East Wind Quintet\, Seen/Heard Trio and COLLAPSS Ensemble (Collective for Happy Sounds)\, she is dedicated to championing music of living composers. Erika has received orchestral fellowships from the Aspen Music Festival\, Texas Music Festival and Brevard Music Festival having worked with conductors: Christian Arming\, David Robertson\, Esa-Pekka Salonen\, Robert Spano and Hugh Wolff. These orchestral and chamber pursuits are complemented by her appearances at ArtX Detroit\, Meadowbrook\, and Culture Lab Festivals as a part of Shara Nova’s indie rock/alternative pop band\, My Brightest Diamond. \nHer first solo debut album\, Reimagining the Album\, will be released via an online application featuring newly commissioned works for the singing/moving flutist by composers: David Biedenbender\, Mark Engebretson\, Jane Rigler and Sam L. He is a cross-genre musician\, at home in classical\, operatic\, and pops repertoires alike. In the fall of 2022 he will assume the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Conducting and Director of Orchestras at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro\, where he will conduct orchestras\, opera\, and teach conducting. \nRotem began his conducting studies at the age of seventeen\, under the guidance of Vag Papian. Before starting his academic studies\, he served in the Israel Defense Forces military band as head librarian and assistant conductor. He earned a BM in orchestral conducting from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music of Tel-Aviv University\, where he studied with Prof. Yoav Talmi\, Yi-an Xu\, and Ronen Borshevsky. His graduate studies took him to The University of Michigan\, where he earned both MM and DMA degrees in orchestral conducting\, studying with the renowned conductor and pedagogue Kenneth Kiesler. \nAt the University of Michigan\, Rotem served as Music Director of the Campus Symphony Orchestra and the Michigan Pops Orchestra\, bringing these ensembles to new musical heights. He also filled the role of assistant conductor to the prestigious orchestra program\, supporting the work of four student orchestras. As cover conductor of the University of Michigan Opera Theater\, he conducted operas such as Puccini’s La bohème\, Handel’s Alcina\, and William Bolcom’s Dinner at Eight. In February 2018 he served as the first assistant conductor for the ground-breaking test performance of Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess’ new critical edition. Following his studies\, Rotem served as Music Director of Spectrum Orchestra in Birmingham\, Michigan\, Associate Conductor of the Michigan Youth Symphony Orchestra\, and Cover Conductor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. \nRotem participated in workshops and masterclasses with world renowned orchestral conductors\, including Simon Rattle\, Zubin Mehta\, Zsolt Nagy and Christopher Lyndon Gee. He participated in additional conducting workshops with Joseph Missal\, Felix Hauswirth\, and Laszlo Marosi. \nIn his native Israel\, Rotem led several orchestral\, wind\, and vocal ensembles\, achieving national acclaim as a conductor and educator. Dr. Bickham has performed with opera companies throughout the United States including Houston Grand Opera\, Opera New Jersey\, Opera in the Heights\, Loudoun Lyric Opera\, and Opera Camerata of Washington. DESCRIPTION:Winston Duke made his feature film debut in Black Panther\, the highest-grossing film of 2018\, as well as the third-highest-grossing film ever in the United States. Duke played the fan-favorite character M’Baku. The role earned him his first NAACP nomination for Breakout of the Year. Andy won top honors at the 2008 MTNA National Senior Woodwind Competition and has received other prizes in the National Collegiate Solo Competition\, the Vandoren Emerging Artists Competition\, the Luminarts Foundation Fellowship Competition\, and the Ariel Artists ‘Impact Performance’ Competition. Andy has recently performed as guest principal clarinet of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and the North Carolina Opera\, and he was appointed Bass Clarinet/III Clarinetist of the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra in 2020. Other festival appearances include the Lucerne\, Bang on a Can\, Sewanee\, Hot Springs\, and Great Lakes Chamber Music festivals. \nA noted interpreter of contemporary music\, Andy has premiered and commissioned dozens of works to date and has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on their MusicNOW series\, at the New Music Gathering\, and with Ensemble Dal Niente\, the Chicago Composer’s Orchestra\, and the Chicago Center for Contemporary Composition’s Grossman Ensemble (with whom he is featured on the 2020 release FOUNTAIN OF TIME). In 2018\, he was clarinetist for the workshop performance of Augusta Read Thomas’s opera “Sweet Potato Kicks the Sun\,” sponsored by the Santa Fe Opera. Andy also performs with the Zafa Collective and earspace\, and was a founding member of the trio F-PLUS. Andy is clarinetist with the mixed sextet Latitude 49\, which recently released its sophomore album WAX AND WIRE on New Amsterdam Records. Latitude 49 has held residencies at Princeton University and Baylor University\, and has been the recipient of grants from the Barlow Endowment\, the Fromm Foundation\, Chamber Music America\, and the Aaron Copland Fund. \nAndy is currently Assistant Professor of Clarinet at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and each summer joins the Artist-Faculty of the Tennessee Valley Music Festival. Previously\, he held teaching positions at Northwestern University and Lake Forest College\, and he has been the North Carolina State Chair for the International Clarinet Association since 2019. Andy earned his DMA in Clarinet Performance with a Cognate Certification in Music Theory from Northwestern University\, where he also earned his Master of Music degree. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Columbus State University’s Schwob School of Music. His primary teachers have included Steve Cohen\, J. Lawrie Bloom\, and Lisa Oberlander. As an advocate for pushing the boundaries of traditional performances\, Annie has performed and curated concerts at breweries\, parking deck rooftops\, intimate living room settings\, and other unconventional spaces\, all with the aim of making the arts more accessible and interdisciplinary. Annie has presented at Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) conferences at collegiate\, state\, and national levels\, The National Conference of Keyboard Pedagogy (NCKP)\, and College Music Society (CMS) conferences. She is the current President of Greensboro Music Teachers Association (GMTA) and serves on the board for the North Carolina Music Teachers Association (NCMTA). During summers\, she is the Assistant Director of Piano for the Brancaleoni International Music Festival (brancaleonifestival.com(opens in new window)) in Piobbico\, Italy. \nAnnie has commissioned and premiered dozens of new works. She is the pianist of Khemia Ensemble (khemiaensemble.com(opens in new window))\, a contemporary chamber ensemble that is dedicated to promoting contemporary classical music by cultivating inclusive place-making\, collaborative mentorships\, and authentic storytelling through immersive\, multimedia performances. She also released the album “World Map” with Parma Recordings as the former pianist of Four Corner’s Ensemble. Her latest commissioning project\, Circles and Lines\, consists of new pedagogical works by women composers that introduces contemporary piano techniques to intermediate pianists. As a strong believer in creating a better and more equitable “normal” in the piano community\, she also founded A Seat at the Piano (ASAP) in the summer of 2020 (aseatatthepiano.com(opens in new window)). ASAP is a 501(c)(3) that is dedicated to the promotion of inclusion in the performance and study of solo piano repertoire. Patrons must sit in their assigned seat.\n\n\n\nFace Coverings\nFace coverings that cover the nose and mouth are strongly encouraged\, but not required\, while inside the performance hall. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nThe 1841 Bösendorfer grand piano\nThe 1841 Bösendorfer grand piano represents the piano builder’s craft in the era when Chopin\, Mendelssohn\, Schumann\, and Liszt were at the height of their powers. Restored by Edward Swenson of Trumansburg\, New York\, it is an early example of the work of the Viennese builder Ignaz Bösendorfer (1794-1859)\, whose firm\, founded in 1828\, still makes some of the world’s finest pianos. An expanded and strengthened descendent of the Classical-era fortepianos played by Mozart and Haydn\, it is similar to the pianos Beethoven knew during his later years. It has a range of six and a half octaves with 81 keys of ivory and ebony\, leather-covered hammers attached directly to the keys\, parallel stringing throughout the scale\, and pedals for lifting the dampers and shifting the keyboard (una corda). The case\, veneered in ash\, supports the tension of the strings without the assistance of an iron plate. The sound delivers clarity\, variety of color\, and the sweetness of tone for which Bösendorfer was particularly esteemed. \nAndrew Willis\, fortepiano\nPianist Andrew Willis explores the historical development of keyboard instruments and their performance practice\, maintaining a commitment to the study\, performance\, and teaching of the widest possible range of repertoire. Keenly interested in the history of the piano\, he contributes frequently to conferences\, festivals\, and concert series. He has served as president of the Southeastern Historical Keyboard Society and as a Trustee of the Westfield Center for Historical Keyboard Studies. As Covington Distinguished Professor of Music in the UNC Greensboro School of Music\, Willis teaches performance on instruments ranging from harpsichord to modern piano. He directed the biennial UNCG Focus on Piano Literature for over a decade and recently inaugurated a student Historical Performance Consort. For the Albany\, Bridge\, Claves\, Centaur\, and CRI labels he has recorded solo and ensemble music of three centuries on pianos linked historically to the chosen repertoire. Willis received the DMA in Historical Performance from Cornell University\, where he studied fortepiano with\nMalcolm Bilson\, the MM in Accompanying and Chamber Music from Temple University under George Sementovsky and Lambert Orkis\, and the BM in Piano from The Curtis Institute of Music\, where his mentor was Mieczyslaw Horszowski. \nRobert Bracey\, tenor\nRobert Bracey has performed throughout the United States and made appearances in Canada\, Russia\, Europe\, India\, and Japan. He was awarded first place in the Oratorio Society of New York’s Annual International Solo Competition at Carnegie Hall. He returned to Carnegie Hall for performances of Handel: Messiah. He made his Detroit Symphony debut at Orchestra Hall and his Kennedy Center debut in Washington\, DC. Engagements include performances with the Symphony Orchestra of India and the Paranjoti Academy Chorus at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai\, India\, the Telemann Chamber Orchestra in Tokyo and Osaka\, Japan\, Oratorio Society of New York\, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra\, Detroit Symphony\, Grand Rapids Symphony\, Pacific Symphony\, Orlando Philharmonic\, World Youth Symphony at Interlochen\, Choral Arts Society of Washington\, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra\, Dayton Philharmonic\, Syracuse Symphony\, Wichita Symphony\, Elgin Symphony\, Southwest Florida Symphony\, North Carolina Symphony\, Winston-Salem Symphony\, Illinois Symphony\, Flint Symphony\, Midland Symphony\, East Texas Symphony\, Boise Philharmonic\, Greater Lansing Symphony\, Bach Festival Society of Winter Park\, Choral Society of Durham\, Kalamazoo Bach Festival\, and the University Musical Society in Ann Arbor\, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from Michigan State University\, a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan. He is currently Professor of Voice and Chair of the Voice Area at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. \nNicholas DiEugenio\, violin\nPraised for the “rapturous poetry” in his playing (American Record Guide) and as an “excellent” and “evocative” violinist (New York Times)\, Nicholas DiEugenio leads a versatile performing life as a chamber musician\, leader\, and soloist in music ranging from early baroque to current commissions. He performs in venues such as Glinka Hall in St. Petersburg\, Trinity Wall St.\, Freiburg’s Ensemblehaus\, and Weill Recital Hall. Together with pianist and duo partner Mimi Solomon\, Nicholas created the project “Unraveling Beethoven\,” a cycle of all ten violin sonatas combined with response works from composers Tonia Ko\, Jesse Jones\, Robert Honstein\, D.K. Garner\, and Allen Anderson. The award-winning album Unraveling Beethoven was released in 2018 by New Focus Recordings. Other featured recordings include the complete Violin Sonatas of Robert Schumann (Musica Omnia) as well as a tribute to Pulitzer prizewinner Steven Stucky (New Focus). Nicholas is a core member of The Sebastians as well as Associate Professor of Music at UNC Chapel Hill. \nBrent Wissick\, cello\nBrent Wissick is Professor of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he as taught teaches cello and early music ensembles since 1982. His career includes performances with Ensemble Chanterelle\, Atlanta Baroque Orchestra\, Altlanta Symphony\, Dallas Bach Society Folger Consort\, Concert Royal\, Smithsonian Consort of Viols\, Boston Early Music Festival and American Bach Soloists as well as Collegio di Musica Sacra in Poland. He was an NEH Fellow at Harvard in Lewis Lockwood’s Beethoven Quartet Seminar\, and later did research on these works in Germany and Poland. A former student of John Hsu at Cornell University\, he has performed\, taught and adjudicated at at many of the important schools\, workshops and festivals in North America\, Australia\, Europe and Asia including 4 summers in Japan and China. His recording of Sonatas and Cantatas by Bononcini was released by Centaur and his online video article about them has been published by the Journal of Seventeenth-Century Music. He has also recorded for Albany\, Titanic\, Dux\, Radio-Bremen\, Koch International\, 3 Grammy nominated; and recorded the Chopin Cello Music on period instruments with Andrew Willis Currently\, he is Past President of the Viola Gamba Society of America\, having served as President from 2000 through 2004\, chair of the 2007 Pan-Pacific Gamba Gathering\, and a board member since 1986. The society recently granted him Lifetime Membership in 2020.
