Through a four-week intensive course that meets for 14+ hours every weekend\, students work through preconceived notions about their own image-making and artistic practices\, spending large blocks of time drawing in response to prompts or guidelines and then discussing the learning process with peers and this year’s Drawing Marathon instructor\, Jennifer Meanley. This exhibition is the culmination of the work produced during these four weeks by the graduate students\, including a range of drawings from quick experimentations to fully resolved drawings. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGreensboro Project Space Weekly Gallery Hours: \n\n\n\nTuesday – Friday\, 12 -5 PM \n\n\n\nSaturday\, 2-5PM

SUMMARY:The Death Show: An art exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Death Show\n\n\n\n Featuring Paige Cox\, Leanne Pizio\, and Peter Schroth\n\n\n\nOctober 22 – November 2\, 2024\n\n\n\nReception: November 1st\, 2024 | 6-8P\n\n\n\nMore About The Death Show \n\n\n\nThe sneaky thing about life is that it includes and requires death. \n\n\n\nAs adults\, usually not a day goes by without a thought or two about an impending end. And as we get older and our loved ones start crossing over to the other side\, we find ourselves dealing with death and all the bells and whistles that go along with that incredibly massive topic.  It is an experience that awaits us all.We invite you to come see how three Greensboro artists interpret DEATH.  Please join us and come share your stories that might help all of us relate to one another in this big fragile world we call Life. \n\n\n\nMore About the Artists \n\n\n\nPaige CoxAs a fiber artist\, I love to play with color and texture. It has always been a passion of mine to incorporate humor into my work as well. I have worked as a textile artist my whole life experimenting with weaving\, tapestry\, embroidery\, felting and now tufting. I enjoy manipulating materials\, incorporating reused items\, and everyday objects in my pieces. My hope is that my creations make a space brighter and lighter. \n\n\n\nFollow on IG:@paigecox_art \n\n\n\nLeanne PizioIf you can imagine a thing\, no matter how big or small\, you can make it out of clay. Clay is a living medium\, one that can be seduced into anything the heart desires and that makes working in clay not only fascinating but also challenging. \n\n\n\nWhen approaching the work\, my mind tends to see things in a series. I like to build multiple sculptures that pile together to make another vision. \n\n\n\nFollow on IG:@leannepiziosartPeter SchrothWhen we cut away all the excess\, block out all the distractions\, sort the clutter\, turn off all the noise…when we boil it down to a single fundamental unit\, what are we left with? What actually matters?LOVE.My work is about love\, but it’s also about the lack of love.  It’s about the want and the need of love.  The acceptance and rejection of love.  The beauty and the ugliness.  The laughter and the tears.  Everything\, all the time…it’s all fueled by Love. And then there is Death. \n\n\n\nFollow on IG: @peterschrothart \n\n\n\nLearn more: www.PeterEric.com \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGreensboro Project Space Weekly Gallery Hours: \n\n\n\nTuesday – Friday\, 12 -5 PM \n\n\n\nSaturday\, 2-5PM

DESCRIPTION:Piece x peace\n\n\n\nFeaturing BIPOC Community Artists \n\n\n\nCurated by Amiah Jones  \n\n\n\nNovember 12 – 16\, 2024\n\n\n\nArtist Talk + Reception: Saturday\, November 16th\n\n\n\nTalk\, 5:30p\, Reception\, 6-8P\n\n\n\nJoin us on UNESCO’s International Day of Tolerance to celebrate the work of the artists featured in this exhibition \n\n\n\nDear Greensboro\, \n\n\n\nAs Black and Indigenous People of Color\, it can be hard to navigate through who we are\, who we want to be\, and who the world tells us to be. While dealing with that\, we don’t always realize how hard it is to find space to cope. We either feel we don’t have time to\, or we were told it’s just part of life- part of growing up.  \n\n\n\nWell\, no matter how much we grow\, we still deserve the time and space to be human. We deserve a space to tell the truths of our experience. We deserve a space to find others who want to understand where we are coming from. Whether you find solace in observing artwork\, or confiding in people from your community\, take this space for yourself. Take this space to heal. You deserve to exhale. \n\n\n\nMay you be heard. May you be loved\, \n\n\n\nBIPOC-Greensboro \n\n\n\nCuratorial Statement by Amiah Jones \n\n\n\nThe History of Kapwa \n\n\n\nᜃᜉ᜔ᜏ \n\n\n\nKapwa is an age-old moral framework originating from the Philippines. Filipino social-psychologist\, Vergilio Enriquez\, defined it as the recognition of a shared identity\, an inner self\, shared with others. This bridge between collectivist and individualist culture gives us the room to reflect. Should we build these bits of shared humanity into a path towards peace? Or should we proudly shatter on our own\, piece by piece? \n\n\n\n Featuring Work by\n\n\n\nSofia Aguilar\, Jon Carlos Aguinaldo\, Quan Apollo\, Luz Borrayo\, Kayla Bullock\, Adia Carter\, Aminah Coppage\, Brenda Fonseca\, AJ Guieb-alimbuyuguen\, Will Harvey\, Amiah Jones\, Tyler Jones\, Viveka Krumm\, Alicia Mccluney\, Zaire Miles-Moultrie\, Madison Miller\, Aryana Norris\, Brandy Rodman\, Shaye Scales\, Myles Wilder \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGreensboro Project Space Weekly Gallery Hours: \n\n\n\nTuesday – Friday\, 12 -5 PM \n\n\n\nSaturday\, 2-5PM
