DESCRIPTION:Come join the School of Art as we celebrate the birth of Animation at UNCG. \nThis exhibition showcases the Laura Hayes and John Howard Wileman collection of animation toys and optical devices. These items date between 1825 and 1905 and represent the earliest examples of moving images. \nAn opening reception will be held August 19 from 6:00- 8:00pm in the Gatewood Gallery.\nAdmission is free – come create your own animation toys. \n  \nThe Gatewood Studio Arts Gallery is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 – 4:00pm and Saturdays from 1:00 – 4:00pm

Limited spaces are available in a two-level parking deck off Fisher Avenue. Overflow parking is available in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home parking lot but not if the funeral home has a service scheduled (signs will be posted). If you have no mobility issues\, please use the outer lots. \n\n\nAudiences and Tickets\nAll family and friends are welcome to attend the ceremony. Tickets are NOT required for guests. \n\n\n\nFace Coverings\nFace coverings that cover the nose and mouth are strongly encouraged\, but not required\, while inside the church. \n\n \n\n\n\n

Afterwards take a stroll over to the Weatherspoon Art Museum to see works by our graduating MFA students.
