2016 CVPA Commencement Information

The College of Visual and Performing Arts holds a recognition Ceremony for its graduates each year, in addition to the University Commencement Ceremony. The CVPA commencement ceremony is open to students who graduated/are graduating in the following terms: Summer 2015, Fall 2015, Spring 2016, and Summer 2016.

Due to University policy, actual diplomas will not be awarded. However, each student will walk across the stage and receive a diploma cover from the Dean and Department Heads.

This year's Ceremony will commence at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 in UNCG Auditorium, followed by a reception. Parking is available in the parking lot behind the Weatherspoon Art Gallery on Tate Street.

Please plan to assemble in the UNCG Auditorium mezzanine/balcony area no later than 2:30 p.m. on May 6. All family and friends are welcome; advance tickets and RSVP's are NOT required for family and friends. Formal regalia is strongly encouraged for both faculty and students, but not required. 2017 School of Art Commencement Information

Graduation 2014

The School of Art holds a recognition Ceremony for its graduates each year, in addition to the University Commencement Ceremony. The School of Art commencement ceremony is open to students who graduated/are graduating in the following terms: Fall 2016,Spring 2017 and Summer 2017.

Due to University policy, actual diplomas will not be awarded. However, each student will walk across the stage and receive a diploma cover.

This year's Ceremony will be on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:30pm in the UNCG Auditorium, followed by a reception at the Gatewood Studio Arts Building. Parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Gatewood Studio Arts Building. The UNCG Auditorium is on the corner of Tate and Spring Garden Streets (across from the Weatherspoon Art Museum).

A cap and gown is not mandatory for this ceremony however; if you are attending the University commencement at the coliseum prior to the School of Art event you may prefer to wear your ceremonial attire.
