The Department of Theatre offers a B.F.A. in Theatre Education degree. The B.F.A. in Theatre Education prepares qualified undergraduates to become effective professional theatre educators at the elementary (K-5, middle (6-8), and secondary (9-12) levels. Students in this degree track study all areas of theatre and coursework in professional education within the context of the liberal arts. B.F.A. in Theatre Education students take courses in all areas of the theatre, including acting, voice, directing, drama in education, theatre history, set and costume construction, stage makeup application, and all areas of design (scene, lighting, and costumes). Student teaching is the culmination of the B.F.A. in Theatre Education major's training. B.F.A. in Theatre Education majors are required to complete 15 weeks of student teaching with 10 weeks of full control of the cooperating teacher's classes during their final spring semester at UNCG.
