UNCG Director of Dance Education, Dr. Mila Parrish and Dance Education students Alexis Brown and Danielle Kinne attended the Arts R4 Life professional development conference at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., on September 12th, 2015. Over 400 N.C. K-12 Arts Educators in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts came together for a day of personalized learning experiences and collaboration centered around the “4Rs”: Rekindle, Reflect, Reconnect, and Renew. The conference was hosted by The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, Meredith College, the N.C. Arts Education Leadership Coalition, and the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources. Brown, Kinne, and Parrish are pictured with keynote speaker Dr. Chuck Davis, internationally renowned founder and artistic director of the African American Dance Ensemble, headquartered in Durham, N.C., and the New York-based DanceAfrica festival.
